About Joanne Lekas, CPDT-KA

Joanne has taken her love of dogs and her 25 years’ of sales and consulting experience and has transitioned these skills to help people live happier lives with their dogs.  Joanne has a passion for teaching and a gift for explaining and demonstrating training techniques in a way that people can understand and embrace.  The real training is for the owners – the dogs are easy! 

Joanne's dog handling/training experience includes:

  • Graduate, Dana Crevling’s Instructor Training Course, with Sue Sternberg and Pia Silvani, winning “Most Training Progress” for her shelter dog
  • Graduate, Dana Crevling's Behavior Problems and Consulting Course with Pia Silvani and Carolyn Barney
  • Graduate, Eden Mountain Teaching and Training Internship with Sue Sternberg and Leslie Burgard
  • Graduate, John Rogerson's 10 day Trainer and Behaviorist Course
  • Teaching Puppy Kindergarten, Beginning Obedience, Graduate Puppy and Clicker Training classes in the greater Boston area
  • Volunteering with rescue dogs at Save A Dog, www.saveadog.org
  • Numerous workshops and seminars, keeping current with the latest positive training techniques and developments
  • Extensive in-home training sessions with both puppies and older dogs, addressing everything from new puppy training to behavior modification for problem issues

Joanne offers private, in-home training sessions throughout Cape Cod.  Joanne provides owners with insight on how dogs actually learn which helps owners avoid common mistakes and maximize their training time and effort.   Joanne provides on-going and detailed follow up support for all training sessions.
